Our prospects program includes both foals bred and raised at 17 Ranch, and purchased from select sales. Foals purchased at sales are selected for their conformation, and potential to be a top performance horse. We follow a stringent health program of regular worming and vaccinations, as well as Natural Balance hoof care, and natural horsemanship training methods. All prospects for sale are available through private treaty, and may be offered in the following sales: CCQHA, Aug. 2008, Miles City, MT. PRQHBA, Sep. 2008, Broadus, MT. We're proud to have known Poco Okie Doke, who was an own son of NCHA Triple Crown Champion, Docs Okie Quixote.
Some of this stallions accomplishments included:
almost $13,000 in NCHA money 7 Performance Points COA NCHA Open Futurity Finalist. 21 Offspring Performers Offspring earnings of over $103,000 23 Offspring Performance Points in NCHA and NRHA.
Okie as he was known, had proven himself both in the show pen and the breeding pen to be a great sire. Though his personality was that of a big loving teddy bear, he gave his all in the cutting arena. Sadly that is why he is not with us anymore. After close to a year of surgeries and special treatment, we regretably were forced to put him to sleep this July, due to joint injuries and arthritis incurred from the cutting pen. While we are lucky to have been able to breed him to several mares for the 2009 foaling season, we will deeply miss his puppy dog personality, and wish him green pastures until we meet him again.
