Little Rey of Okie aka 'Patches'
A dark chestnut with a light mane and tail, and a big blaze make her standout. Patches is a pretty yearling by the proven sire Poco Okie Doke, and out of Rey Jay Carol.
‘Okie’, as her sire is called, has won over $13,000 in NCHA money , 7 AQHA Points, and is an NCHA Futurity Finalist. He has sired 18 performers, who have won of over $73,000 in the NCHA. His sire, Docs Okie Quixote, is an NCHA Triple Crown Winner with LTE of $599,000!
Unfortunately, Patches got her name due to an infected puncture wound on her back as a weanling. The infection required her to have drain tubes inserted under her skin, which ultimately resulted in the loss of a patch of skin over the wound. The wound is still recovering, but is healing really well. We have been assured by the veterinarian that the patch of skin will completely heal over, and she will be unaffected by it by the time she's saddle ready.
